Job Description
The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of all plant-related functions, including production, planning, quality control, process improvement and systems /tools.
Responsible for tactical implementation which includes Quality Assurance, Production of Scrap and Inventory Management
Primary Responsibilities
Ensuring short, medium and long-term production plans are developed, managed and executed.
Establishing end-to-end Quality Management Program, including assurance and control functions and measures.
o Includes training, continuous process improvement, SOP;
Leadership of direct reports across the core functions; total staffing responsibility
Management of both capital and operating budget for Plant.
Performance management of Plant Key Performance Indicators and targets: o
Skills and Competencies:
Must have:
- Plant management
- Managing both unionized and non-unionized staff
- Leading cross functional teams across organizational levels
- Production and inventory planning
- Business transformation implementation and/or continuous process improvement
- Employee performance management experience
- Budget management (capital and operating), including financial reporting
- ERP design, implementation and management
- Quality management program development and execution
Education:
Degree in applicable discipline, Masters preferred
Nice to have:
CPI certification- Lean, Six Sigma
Program or Project Management certification (PMP or similar)
Indirect and / or matrix management experience
